Profile of Global Economics Sdn Bhd [Private Limited Company]

Global Economics Sdn. Bhd. was formed in 1991 as a private limited company. It’s basic objective is to provide information – data, economic trends and forecasts of the Malaysia economy. The company also conducts seminars and workshops on issues relevant to the Malaysian economy.

To date, Global Economics Sdn Bhd has conducted the following workshops, seminars, conferences, research projects and has provided Consultancy Services:

Workshops/Seminars/Conferences

 1. Workshop ( 3 days) on “Basic Econometrics and forecasting”, for the staff of National Productivity Centre(NPC), Petaling Jaya , 1993
2. “ Economic Forecasting” ( 1 week) for Senior Civil servants at INTAN, 1996
3. “ Risk Analysis and Financial Modeling”, Hotel Parkroyal, Kuala Lumpur on June 10,1997.
4. Project Link World Economic Conference- 22-26th September 1997- some 85 participants from 68 countries participated in the conference.
5. “ Knowledge Economy: Growth, Measurement and Impact on the Malaysian economy and the region”, organized in association with

ISIS ( Institute of Strategic and International Studies) and NITC (National Information Technology Council), held on 11th September 2000.

Research Projects

1. The Iron and Steel industry of Malaysia. ( with Paramjit Singh) for the Malaysian Iron and Steel Federation. 1994
2. Johore West Port Multiplier Analysis for Sea Port Terminal Sdn Bhd, 1997.
3. The 2nd Penang Strategic Development Plan, 2001-2010. for the State Government of Penang. June 2001.
4.Consultancy Services on undergraduate and post graduate programme possibilities at two Institutions of Higher Education in Ipoh, Perak , in consultation with the Ministry of Education Malaysia.
 

NOTE: Global Economics Sdn Bhd has recently signed an MOU with Timberlakes Consultants Ltd (UK)- http://www.timberlake.co.uk to jointly conduct seminars in Economics, Finance and Econometrics in South East Asia.
